Where is this Board’s Priorities?

Candace Strother commenting on the Board’s actions this week on the Countywide Energy Policy and information that the budget deficit is even higher than previously estimated:

“The Governor was just elected on a platform of growing jobs and lowering taxes.  In Loudoun he was elected with a 60+% majority and now THIS local democratic party and local BOS are out of step with the people of Loudoun,” said Candace Strother, grassroots activist and Reagan Republican.

Candice, , , As a member of the LCRC for over 15 years, I am glad to see someone with new blood in the County step up and lead the charge. . . It has been painful to see Loudoun become a kindergarden County and a school budget that is 3/4 of the overall County budget. This leaves seniors and retired folks, like myself and my husband in a house that has lost value, unable to move, with property taxes getting ready to skyrocket even more, to pay for debt that this County incurred thru mis-management, and run away developers that did not pay their fair share, and make a killing in the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
I find that in States, such as Texas, there is NO State tax, and where residents have a Homestead Exemption, and the school taxes are frozen to residents that are 65 and over. That State takes care of it’s seniors and retirees.
Virginia does not. School budgets don’t put food on my table or pay my heating bills, do they ???
